MCIS delivered a full mechanical, and drainage installation with commissioning for a new Terminal 3 sports bar at Manchester Airport in collaboration with HMS Host, including a full air conditioning system, a dedicated kitchen AHU and associated cookline extract and supply ductwork.
The project provides a high‑quality, high‑capacity bar and dining environment within the terminal, designed to cope with heavy passenger footfall and rapid turnaround, with integrated back‑of‑house services to support peak trading periods.
Early engagement with the client, airport operations team and principal contractor was critical in planning works around strict security protocols and flight schedules, ensuring the programme was completed within a tight delivery window and with minimal disruption to terminal operations.
The sports bar has been designed with energy efficiency and maintainability in mind, incorporating high‑efficiency air conditioning plant, demand‑controlled ventilation to the kitchen and front‑of‑house areas, supporting the airport’s wider sustainability objectives while delivering a comfortable, modern environment for passengers.
